Perspective, Seasons and The latest news ….

Someone once defined stress as driving too fast, eating too much and impulse shopping …. actually that sounds like a great day – I guess that’s perspective.

Well … here is the perspective of a 15 year old , this is devotion That Jordan gave to the student body this week , hope you are blessed, we were.

“I have been reading through Ecclesiastes and it us a very interesting book, but this certain thing stood out to me because of what I am going through now with the stress of moving, saying good-byes, and just a huge change all round.

So this spoke right to me and it encouraged me because I have been starting to panic and freak out with the reality of this situation and how fast time is going.

So in light of my own experiences, I am going to talk about times and seasons in our life, but I would first like to note the difference between the two

Season- any period of time; a period of time
Time- temporal length of an event; the length of that period, a season

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, 11

For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:
A time to be born and a time to die;
A time to plant, and a time to plunk up what is planted;
A time to kill and a time to heal;
A time to break down and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh;
A time to mourn and a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones and a time to gather stones together;
A time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to seek; and a time lose;
A time to keep, and a time to cast away;
A time to ear and a time to sew;
A time to keep silence and a time to speak;
Atime to love, and a time to hate;
A time for war, and a time for peace.

Time is continual, it is constantly moving forward for me I can never keep up with time, and it always seems to fly by, especially when I dont want it to but without time, there would be no seasons because seasons are made up of time

Time is always the same in a repetitive sense- everyday is made up of 24 hours and there is a repeating pattern in time but seasons always change: in both the length and condition, because not every day at the same time we are in the same season as we were previously.

Time is repetitive, while seasons change all the time

This is kind of a side note, but cool to think about: our situations and seasons change, our environment and friends change, but he does not change, he will always be the same

Malachi 3:6 it says:
For I the Lord do not change; therefore you, o children of Jacob, are not consumed.

In Ecclesiastes 3:11 it says that, He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has made each time for anything beautiful in its own special way, and many times it does not look beautiful to us, but that is when purpose comes in every time or season has a specific purpose and that is why he has ordained you to experience that season in that exact timing.

Sometimes we wonder why we are going through all this, but it is because He has set that particular season for a certain reason that we usually dont understand
In
Esther 4:14 is where the famous line of Esther is said: for such a time as this
He has you in this certain season for such a time as this.

Know that each season that you are going through- whether good, bad, funny or not- it has both purpose and beauty connected to it, so dont give up or lose sight of what you are doing or experiencing right in this season of time and even though our circumstances change, He remains the same.

I often remind myself of this when I am going through a certain season, and it has changed my perspective of that situation.

-what you are going through is only for a season”

  1. I don’t know how I missed Jordan’s devotion (maybe I was in lockdown at the time), but I’m so bummed that I did. I heard it was encouraging and I’m thankful that you typed it up. It is SO encouraging and has ministered to me in a huge way. THanks Jordan!
